Abu Simbel Temples

The Abu Simple Temples were constructed around 1279–1213 BCE by Ramesses II. The 65-foot statue of Ramesses II seated on a throne on each side of the entrance is the massive feature of the temple. The temple was positioned in a way that the interiors would be illuminated by the sun's rays twice a year (22nd October and 22nd February).
The small Temple of Hathor and Nefertari was built in 1264 BC for Hathor, the Egyptian Goddess and the Queen Nefertari. Do not miss out the Sound and Light show depicting the history of the Abu Simbel Temple in a unique way. The spectacular show starts in the late evening around 6 or 6.30 PM. The Egyptian Museum
